Reiki

A Reiki treatment is a very relaxing, non-invasive procedure. During a Reiki treatment the client remains fully clothed and lies down on a comfortable Plinth. The role of the practitioner in a Reiki treatment is a channel of the Universal Reiki Energy to the client. The practitioner is trained in how to facilitate the flow of this energy to others during the Reiki treatment.

The Reiki healing energy works upon the electromagnetic field that surrounds our body, this is known as the aura and consists of several layers called subtle bodies. These contain further energy systems, all interconnected and affecting each other. The auric field directly relates to our emotional, mental and spiritual makeup and so when we are well and healthy the energy that flows through it is clear and balanced. Any form of disharmony in our lives, can cause blockages which may eventually manifest as physical illness.

Reiki has unlimited potential and ongoing weekly treatments for four to six weeks are usually encouraged, this allows a build up of the energy in the client. Reiki can be used with other forms of complementary healing. The benefits of Reiki can helps reduce stress, as a pain reliever and focuses on the both the symptoms and cause of the illness. It promotes self-healing, boosts the immune system and reduces blood pressure and removes toxins.

Reiki is a gentle yet powerful form of hands-on-healing that helps to restore balance and harmony to the mind and body. Reiki is something that can benefit everyone. The energy involved in Reiki healing is the universal life force energy that surrounds every innate being, plant and object. You cannot see this energy as it operates on a frequency that is too fast for the naked eye to see, yet Reiki energy flows freely through you when you are open to receive it.

During a treatment the practitioner places his/her hands gently over specific points on the client's body. Certain sensations may be experienced by the client as the Reiki energy flows out the practitioners hands. Some feel sensations such as heat, tingling or coolness. The Reiki energy will always present itself according to how each part of the body needs to perceive it. Most people find that the energy transports them into a deep relaxed state and it is not unusual to fall asleep during a Reiki treatment.

Holistic Massage

The power of healing in massage is the energy that flows through the therapist's hands in touch to refresh, regenerate and revitalise and create balance and equilibrium. Holistic Massage concentrates more on relaxing the client this relaxation promotes healing that is beneficial to all body systems, it is a natural effective way to treat physical conditions. It benefits the whole body both physiologically and psychologically.

It specifically benefits circulation, distributes nutrients and oxygen to tissues and works on the elimination of waste and carbon dioxide from the tissues. The use of a massage medium i.e. carrier oils, creams helps to lubricate the area being treated, it also allows the hands to move freely over the skin. The properties of the chosen oil may also bring benefits to the specific skin type and conditions while the heat will aid in its absorption.

Aromatherapy Massage

A therapeutic full body massage using blends of essential oils personally selected for individual needs. Aromatherapy massage uses the pharmacological, physiological and psychological effect of essential oils for relaxation and the improvement of physical and emotional well-being. The use of the carrier oil and essential oils, together with the warmth of the therapists hands, helps to move the oil across the skin. Once the massage oil has been absorbed through the skin and inhalation through the nose, their properties effect the body in different ways.

Pharmacological - The essential oils are chemical substances and so are humans. Once an essential oil is absorbed into the body, its chemicals enter the bloodstream, and are circulated around the rest of the body, where they interact with our own chemistry. Our nervous system relies on messages from all over the body, delivered by neurotransmitters along the length of our nerves. These neurotransmitters are chemicals and their messages will be subtly altered by the presence of an essential oil.

Psychological - The essential oil is inhaled through the nose and the heat of the massage releases the oil's molecules into the air and the nose inhales them. The molecules travel up the nose to the olfactory membranes which connect to the olfactory nerves and then to the limbic area of the brain, the area associated with memory, emotions and instincts. Depending on the blend of oil, it is then interpreted for example 'a nice smell', the brain sends different responses around the body activating the healing process. Essential oils have delightful fragrances which heighten the pleasure of the message while their therapeutic properties provides healing and ultimate relaxation.

La Stone Therapy Massage

This therapy has roots in the Native American Traditions and beliefs. It uses deep penetrating message techniques and highly effective energy work using the principles of geothermotherapy, using the alternating effects of heated and chilled stones to the body. The use of heated and chilled stones deliver a deeply therapeutic, relaxing, grounding and cleansing treatment. The principles of thermotherapy, geothermotherapy, deep-tissue manipulation, auric field work, chakra response and spirituality are all used in perfect combination to deliver an effective treatment.

The heated stones, alternating with the chilled stones are used on key acupressure sites and the heat relaxes the muscles, allowing for a much deeper massage this brings about a chemical release to the body's systems, creating balance. This will bring more oxygen and nutrients to the tissues and speeds up the removal of carbon dioxide and waste. Tired aching muscles will be restored to their normal state more readily, as lactic acid elimination is increased. The lymphatic system will be stimulated, increasing its circulation, and thereby aiding the detoxification process. Cell metabolism is increased, aiding cell functioning and healing repair of tissues. The body's metabolism is increased, improving the efficiency of the body systems in general. A state of deep relaxation occurs, as the warmth from the stones soothes nerve endings.

In contrast to heat, the short-term effects of cold on the body is much more refreshing and invigorating. The benefits makes the blood vessels constrict, a process called vasoconstriction. The narrowing of the blood vessels restricts the blood supply to areas and in effect pushes blood away from an area that was previously flooded with blood. The body releases a natural pain relief substance into the muscle when cold is applied. This in turn reduces muscle-spindle spasticity and gives relief from the painful cramps of muscle tension.

When heat and cold are applied continuously during the treatment, there is a continuous process of vasoconstriction and vasodilatation which results in increased flushing rates within the body and optimum healing. Heat and cold do more together than they can ever do apart.

Foot Reflexology

Reflexology is the name given to a form of treatment which involves giving massage in a certain manner to all of the areas of the feet. Reflex areas in the feet which relate to all the parts of the body can be found on the soles, top and sides of the feet. The feet as a whole correspond to the whole of the body. By massaging the various areas, a diagnosis of the parts of the body which are out of balance and therefore not working efficiently can be made and treatment given to correct these imbalances and thus return the body to good working order.

By applying focused pressure to the reflex points, this can have a stimulating effect on the body, improving nerve function and blood supply to normalise body processes and relieve tension.

As the feet offer a larger area to be treated and since they are generally protected by shoes and socks they present a more sensitive area for the treatment.

A full treatment session will take one hour. Regular treatments are recommended, this allows the body a chance to start returning to a balanced state. You do not need to be unwell to receive reflexology treatment, as many people use the regular treatments to improve their health and prevent other problems occurring.

Physical Therapy

This treatment specialises in joint health and the treatment of soft tissue, muscles, tendons, ligaments and fascia. This is a hands on technique that focuses on manual therapy to help promote, mobility, function and quality of life through physical intervention. The treatment allows for assessing and treating non-specific muscle problems such as neck and shoulder tension, chronic calf/hamstring injury, postural aches and pains. The use of diagnostic and therapeutic techniques such as mechanotherapy, postural assessment, swedish massage, myofascial techniques, muscle-energy techniques, trigger point therapy and rehabilitation.

By taking a case history and carrying out a full postural assessment to help establish where the problem has arisen. The aim of the treatment is to help restore function, improve mobility and decrease pain with the goal of re-establishing clients prior functional level.

On carrying out a range of active/passive motions in order to assess the strength or tightness of the muscles and to have a look at joints, ligaments and tissue. The use of a hypertonicity test for (shortness of muscle) their fibres and the weakened muscles a systemic and intelligent approach in the assessment will be carried out, as this is essential before treatment.

Physical Therapy can help restore function, improve mobility and decrease pain with the goal of re-establishing clients prior functional level.

Swedish Massage - It is designed to invigorate the body by stimulating the circulation and tissue elasticity. A truly traditional massage with regulated pressure and stimulating movements which is excellent for effectively releasing knots and tensions as well as easing tired and aching muscles and improving range of motion.

Trigger Point Release - Is a localized area of hypertonicity, that occurs at the motor end unit. A hyperirritable spot in skeletal muscle that is associated with a hypersensitive palpable nodule in a taut band. The spot is painful on compression and can give rise to characteristic referred pain, tenderness and motor dysfunction.

Myofascial Techniques - Manipulates the fascia that runs throughout the musculature. Fascia is so pervasive that any restrictions, adhesions or build ups of fascia can create problems for the musculature. As connective tissue is made of living cells suspended in a matrix of proteins that are secreted by those cells. The proteins, including collagen, elastin and reticular fibres, these provide strength, elasticity and structural support. Without sufficient movement, nutrition and hydration, fascia stiffens and dries out. With Myofascia Technique the connective tissue softens the fascia to create more space and allow more movement within the tissues. (Braun and Simonson 2014) The therapy is based on the idea that poor posture, physical injury, illness and emotional stress can throw the body out of alignment and cause its intricate web of fascia to become tight and constricted. A gentle blend of stretching and massage, myofascial release uses hands-on manipulation of the entire body to promote healing, and release of pain.

Muscle Energy Technique - Uses the nervous system to reset a muscle's resting length. This technique lengthens shortened muscles, releases muscle spasm, strengthens weakened muscles and helps to restore range of motion. The active contraction in a muscle initiates a relaxation response. Involving the activation of the proprioceptors to facilitate muscle tone, relaxation and stretching.

Tarot Card Reading

As an intuitive Tarot Card reader, I use my intuitive abilities Clairaudience, Clairsentience, Clairvoyance and Claircognizance to help me interpret what I am picking up off the cards on a intuitive level. The cards are simply a tool to help me make a connection to spirit in order to be of service to you.

Working on this intuitive level allows me to easily connect to your loved ones on the other side. Those of our loved ones in heaven do not need a formal invitation to come into the reading as some are very quick to show up and even take over the reading.

You may ask why would someone on the other side want to talk to you. The answer is because they love you and because it's their job to let you know they are still around and the connection of love between you still exists. They still have the personality you knew them for when they were with you in this life.

Before a reading begins I ask the reading to be for the highest good and healing for the person. I invite the energy of spirit, your love ones on the other side, the angels, archangels, ascended masters and all the energies of light and love into the reading. I begin each reading this way, regardless of whether you come to see me in person or speak to me over the phone.

What do you need to do to prepare for or during a reading with you? You don't really need to do anything. Your guides, angels and loved ones in spirit already know you will be there and often will show up long before you do. You may want to spend a few minutes before your reading talking to Spirit and your loved ones on the other side and setting your intention(s) for our time together.

All I ask is that you come with an open mind and open heart. Please know that spirit will bring through whatever messages are most important for you to know at that moment.
